Adrian Leijer has long been known for displaying both maturity and leadership beyond his years and has been rewarded for this by being given the honour of Captaining Melbourne Victory. After growing up in country New South Wales, Adrian moved to Victoria and quickly rose up the ranks to become one of Australia’s elite junior players. During his junior years he was a part of the Victorian Institute of Sport’s Football Program and represented Australia at U/17, U/20 and U/23 level. This led to Adrian moving to England to pursue a career in the Premier League where he spent time at Everton, Fulham and Norwich before returning to Australia to be a part of the Melbourne Victory’s 2006/07 A-League Championship side. A further highlight in Adrian’s career was playing for the Socceroo’s against Singapore in 2008.

It is from this vast range of experiences that Adrian is able to provide young athletes with valuable knowledge on how to make a career in soccer. His uncompromising defensive game style coupled with his excellent character makes Adrian a great role model for the athletes he mentors to follow.
